Richard is a member of the M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island and has lived in Thunder Bay for over 20 years. He graduated with a political science degree from Lakehead University, earned his law degree from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2018.

With a focus on impaired driving matters, Richard knows that dealing with the criminal justice system can be a stressful and unfamiliar process. He understands that people with outstanding charges want to be represented by legal counsel who will explore all avenues to ensure they receive the best possible results, whether at the early resolution stages or litigation at trial.

Richard also provides representation to individuals before the Provincial Offences Court who are facing quasi-criminal charges under various pieces of regulatory legislation including the Highway Traffic Act, Fish and Wildlife Act, or Dog Owners' Liability Act. Richard also provides assistance to property owners and renters seeking assistance under the Residential Tenancies Act before the Landlord Tenant Board.

Richard has provided representation to people in every court in Ontario all the way up to the Court of Appeal in Toronto.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Richard also developed a reputation of providing summary advice to clients who have legal questions regarding their protections under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
